We are fans of the Plant Sterols ingredient, and appreciate that the manufacturer uses this method. This ingredient naturally occurs in food, but at such a small level that additional supplementation is said to be necessary to reap full benefits. Plant Sterols are now approved by the FDA as a viable method to naturally address the issue of cholesterol. In addition, there are studies that indicate this ingredient may reduce levels of cholesterol by up to 40%. Though, it may depend on the dosage level of the ingredient.
Plant Sterols are so effective because they fool the digestive system into thinking they are cholesterol. This means that the digestive system will absorb the harmless Plant Sterol into the body, while allowing for the real cholesterol to simply be flushed out of the system.
However, we feel that the higher concentration of this ingredient, the more significant results will be. Currently, this product contains just 400 mg of this ingredient, which is pretty low. There are other products on the market that offer Plant Sterols in higher doses, which may mean larger results. We prefer when a supplement contains at least 1200 mg of Plant Sterols, since we feel this amount is enough to fully maximize the benefits of this ingredient.

The company provides a detailed product description, and even posts the complete formula online for consumer review. They have a testimonial section, but it is currently devoid of any consumer feedback, which makes us wonder if the company has yet to receive positive stories to share about Cholesterol Shield™.
We would like to note that the company website sells this product for about $37, but many online retailers are now offering Cholesterol Shield™ at a reduced price. Those who wish to try this supplement and save money may wish to price check before making a purchase.
